This project was part of a major upgrade to the Rupert Park Pitch and Putt golf course by the City of Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation. The Colborne Architectural Group Pacific Inc. was retained to design a new pro shop/ticket wicket facility for the course and to rehabilitate the existing field house, caretaker's residence and storage facility at the far end of the park.
The field house complex, a pair of cedar-clad single storey pavilions linked by a trellis structure, was in need of general repair and code upgrading. Team change rooms were reopened, public washrooms were made accessible, and the roof was replaced. A small addition and work yard accommodates park maintenance equipment for the new pitch and putt golf course
The new pro shop building acts as an entry pavilion for the pitch and putt course at the north end of the park. The general character and use of material is in sympathy with the existing field house. The building contains ticketing and golf club rental functions, along with public washrooms and a concession counter.
This project was completed in 1995 with a construction cost of $300 K.
