ISSUES
Because it is such a competitive industry, the creation of successful multiple
housing developments is a challenge for all participants - developers,
design consultants, builders and marketing agents. Projects must be
economical and yet well-constructed, respond to a host of municipal
zoning and building bylaws, address the many functional needs of specific
target markets and be visually distinctive so as appeal to individual
buyers' tastes.
Our approach is to develop the design from the inside out, understanding
the needs of potential buyers and how to maximize space use and living
amenities. Issues of privacy, comfort and security are important to
consider as are site context - urban, suburban or rural - and overall
planning and construction efficiency. Again, all of these must be delivered
within agreed economic constraints.
EXPERIENCE
The firm and its Principals have all had experience in the design of
a diverse housing types ranging from custom single family residences
to multiple unit wood frame to concrete construction. Projects completed
by the Firm or predecessor include publicly-sponsored affordable housing,
student housing, apartments, townhouses and resort condominiums.
