ISSUES
The successful design of health care facilities demands attention in three key areas; a high level of technical coordination for accommodating complex building services and specialized medical equipment; the necessity to provide durable, low-maintenance fixtures and finishes; and the creation of comforting, people-friendly environments. Add to this the typical challenges imposed by very constrained budgets and, more often than not, a requirement that work occur in facilities which must remain fully functional during construction and you have a 'normal' health care design assignment.
The Colborne Architectural Group is committed to meeting these challenges and to doing so while effectively liaising with client representatives and multiple user groups who often have diverse and sometimes conflicting project goals. We continue to believe that this high level of client service is the most assured means of achieving success with complex project types.
EXPERIENCE
In the past several years we have completed a number of health care design commissions that include diagnostic and treatment facilities, patient holding areas and public support.
