The COLBORNE ARCHITECTURAL GROUP Pacific was established in Vancouver in 1991 by Stephen Quigley and Catherine Alkenbrack in affiliation with Toronto-based Colborne Architectural Group Inc. This was the successor firm to The Thom Partnership, Architects and Planners, established by R.J. Thom in 1963. Allan Hepburn joined the firm as a Principal in 1994; Catherine Alkenbrack left the firm in 1998 to pursue a private consulting assignment; Richard Newell became an Associate in 2000. Since incorporation, the Vancouver firm has been fully owned and managed by the local principals, all of whom are graduates of the University of British Columbia School of Architecture.

In the past we have acquired a broad range of experience in the design of various project types including institutional, commercial and residential construction as well as interiors, urban design, planning and feasibility studies. Clients include educational institutions, municipal and provincial governments and public agencies, developers, private corporations and individuals.

In July 2008 the firm moved to new offices on the top floor of the heritage Lumberman's Building in downtown Vancouver. Current staff size ranges from 10-13 people depending on workload including 4 registered Architects. The firm is fully computerized using an up-to-date AutoCAD operating platform.

Each principal brings more than 30 years of experience to our new assignments.
