STEPHEN QUIGLEY B.A., B. Arch., Architect AIBC, MRAIC, Principal
Following an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts, Stephen graduated from the School of Architecture at University of British Columbia with honours in 1976. He then joined The Thom Partnership, Architects and Planners in Toronto where he eventually became a Partner in 1984. Following Ron Thom’s death in 1986, the firm name was changed to The Colborne Architectural Group Inc. In 1990/91 Stephen established the Vancouver office with Catherine Alkenbrack. After more than 35 years of practice Stephen has gained direct experience in the design and construction of commercial, institutional and residential buildings as well as private residencies, urban public spaces, heritage restorations, feasibility studies and national design competitions.

Stephen registered with the OAA and RAIC in 1982 and with the AIBC in 1990. In 1979 he was a founding member of Vancouver League for Architecture & The Environment. He has also participated in design studios and thesis committees at UBC and Ontario schools of architecture and has been a member of the District of North Vancouver and UBC Urban Advisory Design Panels.

RICHARD NEWELL B.A., B.E.S., B. Arch., Architect AIBC, MRAIC, LEED BD+C, Principal
Richard graduated from the University of Waterloo´s environmental design/architecture program in 1992 following an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from UBC in 1984. After working for several architectural firms in Montreal during the late 1990´s, Richard first joined CAGP in 1993,   working on a number of UBC projects. Richard went on to spend 5 years with another Vancouver firm working on a variety of institutional and commercial design projects before re-joining CAGP in the spring of 1999. He became an Associate of the firm in 2000 and a Principal in 2010.

Richard has been responsible for pre-design feasibility studies, conceptual design, design development, contract document production, and construction administration for large and small projects with an emphasis on public schools and post-secondary projects but also with extensive experience in research laboratories, office buildings, commercial interiors and heritage projects.
